My Great Ford Ranger

March 25, 2008

I went from a 2 door car to the 4 door Ranger and am glad I made the swap. I love the utility of the 4 door and the pickup bed is great (not too big not too small.) I don’t need the bed to haul anything, only for occasional items and to move in and out of my dorm room. I have the biggest Ranger engine and its adequate, but the acceleration is nothing like my sports car. I love the looks of the Ranger and because I have the FX4 edition, car parts like the tires and rims are great. The seats and interior are comfortable and I love the bucket seats with the center console. The jump seats are also comfortable enough, but aren’t used much. My biggest complaint is gas mileage, but I expected poor mileage from the truck.

I’ve Changed My Mind

March 25, 2008

I am a big fan of Ford, but I am trading my Focus in for a Toyota. I’ve had way too many problems for the car parts with only 46000 miles on it. The gas mileage is terrible on it. This will be the last time I buy a new Ford. I will still stick with the old Taurus.

My Problem About My Ford

March 25, 2008

My recall notice was sent out on January 18, 2005 and after receiving the notice I called to book an appointment to have the issue resolved. I was told that the car parts were not in stock at my dealer and that they would call me once they received the parts.

It is now February 21, 2007 and to date, the parts are still not available at my dealer. They confirmed that other dealers would most likely not have the parts in stock as well, considering that each dealer received an equal amount of parts.

My concern on our family vehicle is that we have a 13 month old child which rides in the vehicle. Should the accelerator become stuck and I get in an accident, I wonder who will win this court case little me or Ford with their group of Super Lawyers.

My Ford Vehicle

March 25, 2008

My Ford  vehicle is roomy and comfortable, it handles well and with the car parts and has plenty of passing power. The transmission shifts smoothly, however on hills it does tend to downshift frequently. There is plenty of interior room, and lot’s of headroom even with a sunroof. The controls are well placed, and the dash is easy to read at night. The middle dash does appear a little cheap however. The seats are comfortable and firm, a nice feature would have been to make the passenger seat also a power seat. Also the headrest should tilt. The stereo controls are good, but the CD changer is slow in changing CD’s. The moonroof is great, and the fact that it has a tilt-up feature is super.

The Ford Escape Warranty Service

March 25, 2008

I loved my ford Escape… for the first 40k miles. Then the transmission died. Despite the fact that it was under the 3-year car parts  warranty, and just above the warranty on miles, Ford made no effort to help with the costs. They would not repair the transmission, only replace it with a “factory refurbished” transmission at a cost of $3700. I have only owned Fords for the last 25 years. I’ll never buy another one, and am trading this one in for a BMW as soon as it’s repaired.

Our Ford Explorer

March 25, 2008

We bought our Explorer Ltd. 2 years ago off a retail lot and have been extremely happy with it. Previous to this we had bought a new 1995 Explorer XLT and kept it for 10 years. In those years we had to replace the Rancho Rs19000 shock absorber  and that was it as far as mechanical items went. We had a 6 cylinder in our old Explorer and wanted something with more power and smoother operation.

Well our 2002 Explorer 4.6 V8 sure fits the bill. We are extremely happy with this vehicle, we have had zero maintenance issues (we change the oil every 3-4000 miles and follow the maintenance schedule faithfully

My Kia Sportage

March 25, 2008

I purchased this car in February 2005. I had recently rented a 2005 KIA Optima and was so impressed with it that I decided to give the sportage a look when shopping for a compact SUV. I considered the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Honda CRX, Toyota RAV4 and a few others. I have always been a Ford man and really tried to convince myself to buy the escape (I almost always own American cars). I guess in my old age I am getting cheap. I just could not justify an almost $7000 difference for the comparably equipped escape, especially when I preferred the way the Sportage drives. The EX with the heated leather seats, moonroof,Racor Prostor bike rack,6-disc CD changer and very smooth automatic transmission is just fun to drive (even after driving my mustang GT on a daily basis). The reclining rear seats are a treat my passengers really enjoy, especially on long drives. At this time I highly recommend this car!

One Of My Good Cars

March 25, 2008

I bought this car in hard times – I’ve lost my job and I used some inheritance money to buy it. I wanted something cheap & reliable as I didn’t have money to waste.

It’s been a great car and has never let me down. Does about 400 miles a week at the moment.

It isn’t the most exciting of cars, but does have character and becomes quite lovable after a while. My girlfriend is totally smitten with it.

While the engine isn’t happy at high revs, I just love this car for it’s low end torque around town. I’ve previously had replaced the Putco locker side bed rails which isn’t happy at all around town. The Kia makes easy work of town driving and can turn on a six pence.

My Great Bargain Car

March 25, 2008
This Daewoo car is a great bargain! I mean why settle for expensive cars like Honda, Toyota and the likes? You can the same performance at almost half the cost. My car has power steering, power windows, power trunk release, power locks and Pro Comp Pro Runner light bar. All these for a cheap price. The car accelerates very fast. 0 to 100 km/h takes only about 5-7 seconds. It is also a very fuel friendly car. No wonder in our country, this is mainly used as taxi cabs. Engine is powerful and smooth.

A Second Hand Porsche

March 25, 2008

The car needed some general maintenance. I am the 2nd owner and it was a Porsche leased vehicle. After the purchase, I took the car to the dealer for some war work. I replaced the drive belt, changed the oil, air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter. I had a small oil leak from drivers side lower valve cover gasket. I had it replaced. The Powerstop cross drilled brake disc had some rust, so I sanded and repainted silver with high temp paint. I just purchased 2 rear tires. I could not stand for the audio system so I ripped it out and replaced the head unit with an alpine mp3 and rewired the complete system and installed eclipse amps. Other than that a good cleaning detail of the wheels and a great wax job.
